Hey, hi there. Nikola Tamindzic here — the photographer behind Ambrel.net, in case we were never properly introduced.
This was the home of the vain.
Ok, so it has become pretty clear that something was afoot as the updates were becoming more and more spread out. Put simply, as a site dedicated solely to nightlife photography, Ambrel.net has run its course. Then again, it was pretty exciting running what was widely considered the nightlife photography site for over three years.
Since 2004, when I first started posting galleries of partying New Yorkers here and on Gawker, there have been over 150 archived galleries on Ambrel.net, cover pages and features in Time Out New York and British Journal of Photography, dozens of photos published in magazines and newspapers from New York and Blackbook to Daily News and New York Post, several "Best Nightlife Photographer" awards from Village Voice, 'L' magazine and Junk magazine, a nomination in the same category from Paper mag, and about 354 copycats of various degrees of talent clogging up toilets of downtown bars. (Hi!)
So, starting today, all my new work will be published EVERY DAY — sex, fashion, nightlife, editorial, portraits, hell, even an occasional landscape — at a somewhat familiar URL: HOMEOFTHEVAIN.COM. Subscribe to the RSS feed today — see you there!
These are 9 latest postings on HOMEOFTHEVAIN.COM. Click one! Subscribe to RSS or Atom feeds, and add us on Facebook, Myspace, or Tumblr.
Ambrel.net will remain intact as an archive of NYC nightlife 2004-2008, and will even receive an occasional update here & there. Scroll down for all the old stuff.
